The auditions, by appointment, will run from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. at the MTC campus, at 509 Westport Ave. in Norwalk,
Financial scholarships are given to qualified students in grades three to 12 who demonstrate ability, desire and a strong commitment to acting, singing and musical theatre.
Funding comes from MTC’s Eileen J. Schilling Scholarship Fund and the Robert W. Baird Company.
Music Theatre of Connecticut’s School of Performing Arts has run for 28 seasons, trains over 500 students every year and has presented more than 200 productions.
Alumni have graduated or are currently pursuing performing arts degrees at the University of Michigan, Boston Conservatory, Syracuse University, NYU, Northwestern University, Carnegie-Mellon University and Emerson College.
MTC’s Scholarship Program is open to all students and no prior theatre or musical training is necessary.
The scholarship audition will encompass a short song prepared by the student, perhaps a short scene to read, and a brief interview with the student and parent.
