Muscle Cars Run Rampant at Maritime Aquarium

They're not orcas or great whites sharks, but they're fast and furious and they're coming to the Maritime Aquarium at Norwalk, Sunday, June 12. In the afternoon, muscle and classic vehicles from Connecticut and New York will converge on The Aquarium to help launch the next big summer blockbuster, "Fast Five," in the IMAX Theater.

The car show takes place between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. in the parking lots adjacent to the Aquarium's main entrance. You can enter any make or model of any car into the show, and trophies will be awarded in the following categories: "Best" import, cosmetic, paint, engine and "Old Skool." All of the entrants will receive dash plaques and two vouchers for admission to the Aquarium.

Display cars such as the Audi A7 and Dodge Charger will be featured. And the disc jockey Pauly-O will be spinning the proverbial turntables for some background music.

Viewing the car show is free, but if you want to enter your car, there is a $5 fee. Show cars will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.

After the car show, take a detour to the IMAX Theater to see "Fast Five," the latest episode in the "Fast & Furious" muscle-car film saga. For more information about The Maritime Aquarium's IMAX movies, exhibits and other offerings, click here, or call (203) 852-0700.
