Cindy Sherlocks Strawberry Ice Cream
To make this recipe, you will need fresh, in-season and locally grown strawberries and an ice cream maker.
2 cups whole milk
2 cups heavy cream
1 ¼ cup sugar
1 ½ cup pureed fresh, ripe strawberries (washed and stem removed)
Bring milk and cream just to boiling point. Remove from heat, add ¾ cup of sugar, stir in a food processor until liquid. Add the rest of the sugar (1/2 cup) to puree and stir. Blend milk mixture with the puree, taste for sweetness and freeze in ice cream maker. Serve and then make more!
