LLS Presents Hops and Grapes at Stepping Stones

There's nothing like that first glass of wine or icy mug of beer on a Friday afternoon. If you make it through yet another work week, The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society has an option for winding down, doing good, and getting a jump on your 2010 tax deductions. This Friday, April 23, The Society's Connecticut Chapter hosts "Hops and Grapes, Toasts and Tastes" at The Stepping Stones Museum for Children. The tasting of food, wine and beer starts at 7:00 p.m. and all proceeds will go to LLS patient services programs and research into cures for blood related cancers.

Food for the event is being provided by area and local restaurants including Norwalk's Strada 18, A&S Fine Foods, and The Restaurant at Rowayton Seafood, among several others. Off the Vine, Rowayton Wine Shop and The Ginger Man are among the beverage donors conducting beer and wine tastings. A silent auction and raffle round out the evening's festivities and NewsChannel 8 meteorologist Matt Scott will serve as emcee.

The museum is located at 303 West Avenue in Norwalk. Tickets are $75, or two for $125, in advance with an extra $10 added for walk-ins. For more information, contact the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society at 203-665-1400.
