Lisa Brady Schmittgall Named COO at St. Joseph's Healthcare In Patterson

PATERSON, N.J. -- St. Joseph’s Healthcare System, based in Paterson, N.J., has announced the appointment of Lisa Brady Schmittgall to the position of Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer.

Prior to coming to St. Joseph’s, Brady served as Senior Vice President of Strategy and System Development at Western Connecticut Health Network in Danbury, where she led the formulation of a system-wide strategic plan, the development of an overall marketing and branding strategy, the development of a Network-wide physician resource plan, and oversaw the Network’s planning, business development and marketing and communications functions.

Previously, Lisa served as SVP and COO, as well as Vice President, Planning and Business Development, at Norwalk Hospital, before its merger with the Western Connecticut Health Network. At Norwalk Hospital, she was responsible for the overall operations of the community teaching hospital. A strong team effort resulted in significant improvements in operating margin and quality outcomes. Lisa oversaw the initiation of performance improvement efforts to streamline workflow and eliminate waste in value streams across the organization. She also led the implementation of numerous successful major capital projects, as well as the formulation and implementation of a Master Facility Plan, with Phase I construction including a $120M ambulatory pavilion, and development of a long-range Master Facility Plan with implementation of Phase II infrastructure upgrades and renovation of inpatient units.

Ms. Brady earned her Master of Science degree in Health Systems Management from Rush University in Chicago and a Bachelor of Science degree in Anatomical Sciences from the University of Illinois.
