Learn How to Prevent Sports Concussions

Sports are a great way for kids to stay healthy while learning important team-building skills. But there are risks to pushing the limits of speed, strength and endurance. And young athletes who do so sometimes don't recognize their own limitations, particularly after they've suffered a concussion.

The ONS Foundation for Clinical Research and Education is holding a sports concussion program Tuesday, Sept. 14, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Eastern Greenwich Civic Center. The free seminar is titled "Sports Concussion: Know the Facts! Concussion management strategies for high school athletes and the ImPACT Test."

The program will be presented by Dr. Scott Simon and Greenwich High School Athletic Trainer, Peter Falla. Refreshments will be served. Admission is free but registration is required. Call (203) 637-3659 or email ogrcc.execasst@yahoo.com to register.

ONS Foundation for Clinical Research and Education, Inc. is a non-profit organization devoted to understanding the causes and optimal treatments of orthopedic injuries and musculoskeletal conditions.
