Although the first official recipe for the treat was published in Alec Barnum's "Trampling and Trailing with the Girl Scout" in 1927, experts believe the s'more tradition began much earlier.

Consisting of a roasted marshmallow and a layer of chocolate sandwiched between two graham crackers, s'mores represent simplicity at its finest and gooiest.

However, there are variants nowadays, such as using peanut butter cups or nutella instead of pieces of a chocolate bar or swapping the signature roasted marshmallow for marshmallow cream.
