Ford Takes a Bold Step

America is getting older and Ford wants us aging Baby Boomers to remain comfortable -- and safe -- behind the wheel. And they're doing so by addressing our eyes.

In addition to standard safety features such as air bags and anti-lock breaks, Ford, beginning with vehicles manufactured in the 2013 model year, will feature larger, bolder and thicker fonts on its dashboard displays. According to autoblog, Ford's research determined that as the population of older drivers grows, minor changes – such as increasing the size of onboard fonts – can create a safer driving environment.

It's not as sexy as stability control or as a saleable as a panoramic roof, but Ford is taking a serious step toward increasing the safety of its vehicles. Now, if they can only tell me where I left my car keys.
