Fight Back Against High Heating Bills

If you have to sit down when you open your heating bill you’re not alone. The super-cold temperatures make us all want to crank up the thermostat. Drafty leaks, especially around doors and windows, allow  the winter weather to sneak into your homes and make you shiver.

Your local energy company may be able to help you lower your bills. Technicians can perform an energy audit to find out just where those cold breezes are entering your home. Connecticut Light & Power and United Iluminating have a program called the Home Energy Solution. For $75, an authorized contractor will do an energy assessment and make on-the-spot improvements, including caulking and sealing critical air leaks. You may even qualify for rebates on appliances, insulation and heating and ventilation systems. If you're a South Norwalk Electric and Water customer you're in luck. SNEW has grant money to cover the audit fee so call (203) 866-3366 today to book your audit.

For more information on this money-saving resource call (877) WISE-USE. The energy audits are supported by the Connecticut Energy Efficiency Fund.
