Due to the high number of participants at this year’s event, temporary road closures will take place in South Norwalk from 9 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Exit 16 northbound, on I95, will be closed between 9:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. In addition, lane restrictions and detours are planned for outlying areas of the course.

Residents are advised to seek alternate routes. For details on which roads will be closed and to view the entire course, visit www.sonohalf.com.

The race, which includes a 13.1 half marathon and 5k (3.1 mile) run, sold out for the second straight year. This year’s event has already raised well over $20,000 for local charities and organizations, surpassing last years’ donations. Additional funds will be raised at the event from beer and raffle sales with 100 percent of the proceeds going to benefit Norwalk based,  charities, Two Wheels Organization and The Courage to Speak Foundation.

The race also includes a fun run for kids. The race's central hub is Veterans Park in South Norwalk, and the half marathon begins at 9 a.m. The 5k begins at 9:10 a.m. The kids fun run begins at 11:30 a.m.

Runners can pick up packets prior to race day at Wilton Outdoor Sports Center from 11 a.m. until 7 p.m.
