Event Brings Balance to Fairfield County

Do you want to learn more about the connection between mind, body and spirit? Would you like to participate in the latest health and fitness classes including Tai Chi, Chi gong, yoga-inspired strength training and martial arts? A Balancing Act might be just the inspiration you’re looking for.

The three-day wellness event will target health conscious people of all ages, Thursday, Oct. 20 to Saturday, Oct. 22. It will showcase fitness and wellness expert Scott Cole, and all the classes will be held at The Outback in New Canaan.

Scott Cole has entertained audiences in more 30 countries, and hosted wellness weekends at Canyon Ranch, Lodge at Woodloch and Kripalu. He has also run motivational sessions for Cisco and Northern Trust, Nike, Snapple and Zegna Sport. A former National Aerobic Champion, star of Abs of Steel and creator of the Discover Tai Chi DVD series, Cole has been featured on Live with Regis and Kelly, CNN Headline News, The Early Show and E!

The Balancing Act weekend will begin at The Outback, 71 Main Street in New Canaan, with a kick-off breakfast Thursday morning. There will be a choice of two to three classes each day and participants can choose to attend any or all of the classes.  Pricing will run $20 a class, $50 for 3 classes and $100 for all 6.  The 11 a.m. Tai Chi class on Friday will be a free class for seniors.

A portion of proceeds from the event will be donated to local charities, including Staying Put in New Canaan.
