El Charrito Pulls Into New Digs

When I first tried the superlative Stamford Taco Truck, El Charrito, in December, Carlos Terron broke my heart when he told me he was pulling into the garage for the winter.

“It gets too cold in the truck,” he said. “But don’t worry,” he told me. “When I close the truck, I’m opening a restaurant in Greenwich.”

It turns out that Carlos is a man of his word. Monday, January 10, at 7:00 AM, Carlos and his wife, Alexandra, will open the doors to El Charrito at 7 Apache Place, in Riverside.

“We’re thrilled,” said Alexandra. “We’re going to do take-out and delivery, and we’ll serve breakfast, lunch, dinner and dessert. It will be the same great food, just more of it.”

As always, I’ll do the reconnaissance work for you. Next week, look for more on Riverside’s newest Mexican restaurant, El Charrito, right here.
