Eat Out: Greenwich and Port Chester Food Fest

The biggest food news happening in Fairfield and Westchester counties this month is the much anticipated, first ever Eating Greenwich & Port Chester event, presented by the New England Culinary Group (NECG). So much more than a typical restaurant week, this food festival spans two towns, in two states, and offers up dozens of dining deals for locals.

It’s a week-long celebration of dining, beginning Sunday, Oct. 16, and continuing through Oct. 21. Better yet, it’s the perfect gastronomic segue into the Greenwich Food & Wine Festival that picks up where the “Eating” fest leaves off on Oct. 22 and runs through Oct. 23.

Like a typical restaurant week, Eating Greenwich & Port Chester will include bargain priced prix fixe menus that highlight the best of what chefs have to offer. But the “Eating” event will also include a varied array of other offers, including: family style dining deals, lunch buffets, early bird specials, deals for ladies who lunch, a la carte gems, and wine pairing bargains. Prix fixe prices for lunch run from $10.11 to $18.11 per person, and dinner menus will be offered from $18.11 to $30.11.

Need another reason to sample the two town’s wares during this special event? You’ve got it. Diners at participating restaurants—like China White, Centro at the Mill, Morello Bistro, Restaurant Jean-Louis and Sonora—will receive “bounce back” coupons. These tickets will entitle diners to 20 percent off any other participating restaurant before Dec. 1, 2011. In plain speech, if you check out China White during the “Eating” fest, you’ll receive a coupon for 20 percent off your food during your next trip to Morello or Sonora, or any other participating restaurant (offer valid Sundays through Wednesdays only).

Try one restaurant during the event, get a coupon to try another once it’s over. Try two restaurants, get two coupons. You get the picture.
