NORWALK, Conn. -- A Chihuahua mix puppy who needs her leg amputated after being hit by a car is expected to recover, but needs some help to cover the procedure and care.
Maryjane is less than three months old, and was surrendered to a local animal hospital on Sunday after being hit by a car. The Norwalk-based Pet Animal Welfare Society took possession of her, and she is now in the care of the Strawberry Hill Animal Hospital, but her left front leg has to be amputated right away.
PAWS said that even though the procedure is expensive, Maryjane is expected to recover and have a full life despite the loss of the leg. PAWS is asking for help raising $2,000 to cover the procedure and the recovery care.
