Some of them are unfit for publication in a family newspaper and some are just slightly suggestive, but the Connecticut State Department of Motor Vehicles doesn't find any of them the least bit amusing.
The Hartford Courant reports that DMV now has a list of more than 900 offensive license plate combinations, titled "MVOFFEN LISTING JUL 27, 2011." The compendium lists verboten letter and number combinations that are sexual, vulgar and/or racist. Among some of the less imaginative entries, 92 start with the letter F, just slightly outnumber those starting with P (89) and S (85).
Many of the banned entries are self-explanatory, while others are on the other side of poor taste. Among them: ACID, BADASZ, BIATCH, CRAMIT, DO.ME, EATUUP, FYAH, GOD, HIGH, JUNKIE, KISOFF, LSD, MAFIA, OMYGOD, PLABOY, REDNEK, SEX, SKRUIT, TOILET, UPYURZ, VODKA, WTF, XTASEE, 2FINBAD.
Got any complaints? Take it up with the inmates at the Cheshire Correctional Institution, where the plates are made. Who needs vanity plates anyway?
