Rider attendance is expected to reach 5,000, as well as 15,000 spectators lined up along the 10-town 60 mile motorcade route thru Fairfield County, all displaying and waving American Flags and cheering on the riders.
“For those that lost their lives, for those that gave their lives, and for those that continue to put their lives on the line each day – that’s why we ride” Fred Garrity Jr., executive director of the ride said in a statement.
In addition to more than 100 tire trucks along the route, 24 aerial fire trucks holding 50-foot American flags in an arch over the roadway will be displayed in each of the 10 towns
Riders can register through Saturday, Sept. 10 at Captains Cove Seaport in Bridgeport from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Riders can also register on Ride Day at 10 Norden Place in Norwalk from 8:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Cost is $25 per rider and $25 per passenger.
The ride will begin in Norwalk and travel through Westport, Wilton, Georgetown, Bethel, Newtown, Monroe, Trumbull, Fairfield and Bridgeport.
Gates will open to the public at 8:30 a.m. The tribute will begin at 10:30 a.m.
