Listen up, foodies. Theres some serious news in the Fairfield County food scene. May 23, the legendary James Beard House in New York City will open its kitchen to six of Connecticuts most renowned chefs for a dinner youll be talking about for years to come.
If you eat out in Fairfield County, then the list of invited chefs will be familiar to you, and likely have your mouth watering before you even call to make a reservation.
Arik Bensimon (Napa & Co.), Fritz Knipschildt (Chocopologie), Tim Labant (The Schoolhouse at Cannondale), Lisa Storch (Catch a Healthy Habit), Matt Storch (Match) and Bill Taibe (LeFarm and The Whelk) will all show off their respective talents to create a six course dinner. Wine pairings and signature cocktails will be provided by Mimi McLaughlin and Jeff Marron of Saugatuck Grain & Grape.
The date is still too far off for any of the chefs to start talking menu items or ingredients. But with all this culinary talent and cache behind the evening, its safe to say that by the time they start releasing details, your chance to grab a spot will have come and gone.
Make your reservation by calling the James Beard House at (212) 627-2308. Cost is $130 per person for members of the James Beard House and $170 per person for non-members.
