One of my favorite days of the year is when I spot the first flowers of spring. And today was that day!
I was driving along Mansfield Avenue in Darien Tuesday, dodging potholes and gigantic puddles caused by the drenching rains. Suddenly my eye was drawn to a patch of brand-new purple crocuses. Spring is definitely around the corner.
Snowdrops and crocuses are the first bulbs to appear, popping as soon as the temperatures rise a few degrees. So start looking for them. In a couple of weeks, you should start seeing daffodils, followed by tulips if the deer dont get to them first.
