The next time you think about making a cops-like-to-eat-donuts joke, you might want to reconsider how dangerous their jobs can actually be. For example, police in Surrey, England had a literal run-in with a BMW, which ran a roadblock. The car struck the police car and the officer standing next to it. Not only did the officer miraculously escape harm, he pursued the fleeing driver on foot. And he caught him.
Next time you spot your local constable on vehicular patrol, give him or her a little extra space on the road.
