BBQ Bites with the Chamber

It's barbecue time and the Norwalk Chamber of Commerce is offering a taste of the grilling season ahead. The chamber has joined forces with the Norwalk Exchange Club and Stew Leonard's Wine Store to present a business networking event and barbecue tasting on Thursday April 29 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Aitoro Appliance & Electronics showroom. Billed as a "Taste of Norwalk" the event will focus on the beloved tradition of American barbecue.

Aitoro, home to six state-of-the-art working kitchens, has become a popular venue for charitable and business events in Norwalk over the past few years. The events, they note, provide an opportunity to showcase their wares and give back to the community.

The Norwalk Exchange Club is a voluntary organization of community-minded citizens whose goal is to raise funds for those in our city who need it most. Last year, they donated over $75,000 to local charities through various activites, one of which was the first ever barbecue pit at September's Norwalk Oyster Festival. More details on the club are available at www.exchangeclub.com.

The networking event is open to the public. Tickets, which include a tasting of juicy barbecued items, wine, and all the schmoozing you can handle, are $25 for chamber members and $40 for non-members. Featured will be the acclaimed "pit masters" of the Exchange Club's Bar-B-Q Pit at the annual Norwalk Oyster Festival and other area barbecue experts, each presenting their own specialties. For tickets, contact the chamberat 866-2521.
