Bag Your Biker Style for Earth Day

With Earth Day almost here and with the long-awaited sunny weather in Fairfield County’s forecast, some of you may have your sights set on getting by with two wheels, at least for the day.

But where will you stash your lip gloss?

In your biker bag, of course. What’s a biker bag? It’s any bag, really, that you can easily wear as you pedal around town. For your Earth Day cycle, here’s what to look for in a bag:

Go pro: They call it a messenger bag for a reason. This gender-neutral style is one preferred by bike messengers the world over. It has a longer strap that’s well attached to the bag itself can be worn across your body, with the weight of the bag resting on your back.

Get closure: Make sure the sack you sport as you cycle is capable of being completely closed. Zippered pouches are a biker girl’s best friend. You don’t want to lose your new Karin Herzog moisturizer as you speed down the Post Road.

Pocket it: If you’re out and about on your bike instead of your car, chances are you’ll need to hold more on your person since you don’t have a passenger seat to hold the overflow. Make sure your bag is well-appointed with pockets so you can easily find your keys, credit card and iPhone. With so much riding to do, you don’t want to spend the day digging through your purse.
