Audi Recalls Some A6 Sedans

Volkswagen is recalling some models of its 2012 Audi A6 luxury sedan for a defect in the head-curtain airbag. Volkswagen, Audi’s parent company, says the affected vehicles were manufactured between April 8, 2011, and May 26, 2011.

On its website, Audi says there is a problem with the stitching process of the curtain airbag. In the event of a crash, the head-curtain airbag might not deploy, and might not be able to protect the occupant, thereby increasing the risk of injury.

Volkswagen will notify A6 sedan owners, and dealers will replace the left and/or right curtain airbag free of charge. The safety recall campaign is expected to begin in January.
