Friday, Aug. 31

Timeless Tales: 11 a.m. Classic and contemporary stories, fingerplays, music and movement are part of this interactive storytime for kids ages 3 to 5. South Norwalk Library Branch, 10 Washington St.

Rowayton Farmers Market: Noon to 5 p.m. Pick up fresh fruit, vegetables and other items from local farmers and vendors. Pinkney Park, 1 Rowayton Ave.

Saturday, Sept. 1

Blues, Views and BBQ Festival: 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. The fifth annual Blues, Views and BBQ Festival will feature blues performances from Anders Osborne, Popa Chubby, James Montgomery, Billy Squier and more. There will be activities for kids, adult and kids' BBQ competitions, eating contests, cooking demonstrations and more. Entry is $20 for adults and $10 for kids. On the grounds of the Levitt Pavilion and the Westport Library, Jesup Road, Westport.

Summer Reading Certificate Ceremony: Noon to 4:30 p.m. The South Norwalk Branch Library celebrates kids who have completed the "Summer Safari" reading program this summer. The event will include a certificate ceremony, lunch, a screening of "The Jungle Book" and a safari adventure with Ms. Karen and Chester, the costume trunk. South Norwalk Library Branch, 10 Washington St.

"The Lorax" Screening: 5:30 p.m. Families can enjoy a free screening of "The Lorax," based on the classic story by Dr. Seuss. There will also be activities for kids and a demonstration by Karate Universe. Calf Pasture Beach.

Sunday, Sept. 2

Blues, Views and BBQ Festival: 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. The two-day festival continues with more blues performances, food, contests, games, giveaways and more. Entry is $20 for adults and $10 for kids. On the grounds of the Levitt Pavilion and the Westport Library, Jesup Road, Westport.
