You already love the store, now you can meet the man: Stew Leonard. He'll be visiting the Westport Library to talk about his memoir, "Stew Leonard: My Story," written with Scotty Reiss. Leonard's book doesn't pull any punches: it begins with his Pennsylvania federal prison stint in the early '90s for embezzlement and tax evasion. From there, it traces his forward-thinking transformation of a small, family dairy business into a store that has become a corporation and family empire. All four of his children work at the company, where each pursues his or her own area of interest. According to Supermarket News, the Norwalk store began in 1969 at 17,000 square feet and now has an area of 100,000. Among the Stew Leonard's store's distinctions is its listing in the Guinness Book of World Records for having "the greatest sales per unit area of any single food store in the United States," and inclusion on Fortune Magazine's top 100 businesses to work for -- which shouldn't be a surprise to its 2,000 employees.
