RIDGEFIELD, Conn. Grammy Award-winning guitarist Steven Vai will be performing his unique blend of rock, instrumental and experimental with his band on the Ridgefield Playhouse Stage on Sept. 4.
Vai has been performing, composing and producing for the past 20 years and has worked with Frank Zappa, David Lee Roth, Whitesnake and Joe Satriani.
He has sold about 15 million albums, and has won three Grammys. Two were for Best Rock Instrumental Performance for his Sofa from Zappas "Universe" album, and Best Pop Instrumental Album "No Substitutions." He most recently won Best Rock Instrumental Performance for Peaches En Regalia from "Zappa Plays Zappa." Vai also earned five Guitar World honors and many more.
Beverly McClellan, a first-season contestant on NBCs "The Voice," will be joining Vai as the guest.
