Stephen Kellogg and The Sixers Land in Fairfield

When it comes to logging miles for the sake of music, Stephen Kellogg and the Sixers have probably rolled their odometer back a few times since their 2003 start. Dubbed "a travelling musican for life" Kellogg and his original band members, Kit “Goose” Karlson and Brian “Boots” Factor have forged their own special blend of modern, country-dipped alt rock, which they'll perform at Fairfield Theatre Company on Dec. 31 at 7:30 p.m. Their expanding reputation as a band to watch has moved well beyond the East Coast, where the Western Massachusetts natives got their start. Adding to their charisma is a performance style that allows for both informality and changing up of musical roles. In this they say, they emulate their idols, The Band who were also known as very talented and often impromptu.

Stephen Kellogg and the Sixers also have a strong desire to reveal their real selves, even in performance. “We’re not up there projecting a personality we can’t believe in. I think it’s important to go with the feel of each moment and take chances. If that means we get out of synch or sing out of key once in a while, so be it. The crags are cool because they’re interesting,” Stephen says.

Catch this group of talented musicians performing on New Year's Eve at the Fairfield Theatre Company  at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $75. After all, as soon as it's a new year, they'll likely hit the road again. For information, visit the FTC website.
