Budding and accomplished artists-- and everything in between -- display their works at Silvermine School of Art's 20th annual Art Student Exhibition. On view from June 20 to July 29, visitors get a glimpse of creations by artists of many ages and can see the fine art and creative energy generated by the school's student body. Awards are given in Adult, Youth and Junior Artist categories for painting, drawing, printmaking, photography, sculpture, ceramics and silversmithing/jewelry design. Juror for the competition is Michael Torlen, a painter and Associate Professor of Visual Art and a founding faculty member of the School of Art+Design at Purchase College, State University of New York. He also teaches painting and drawing at Purchase College. Gallery hours are: Wednesday Saturday: noon to 5 p.m. and Sunday, 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
