NORWALK, Conn. – Norwalk’s Stepping Stones Museum for Children is hosting a number of events in October, with one new exhibit and a live show honoring National Energy Awareness Month.

Saturday, Oct. 4 Around the World: Creative Kids at 2 p.m. Test your weaving skills while learning about Ethiopian culture. Woven baskets are an ancient icon of this enduring way of life. Space is limited. Pick up free tickets at the Welcome Desk. Saturday, Oct. 4  Musical Performance: Talent Education Suzuki School (TESS) at 3:30 p.m. Enjoy a mixed ensemble of student performers and their musical gifts. Saturday, Oct. 11 Accessibility Day from 9-11 a.m.   Free admission for families with children who have special needs. Saturday, Oct. 18 and Sunday, Oct. 19 at 2 p.m. Tuesdays And Fridays: Oct. 21, 24, 28, 31 at 11 a.m. “Global Energy: The Musical” An interactive, multimedia and playful look at energy conservation. Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis. New! Music Time Wednesday, Oct. 15  Music Time - Suzuki Babies from 12:30 to 1:15 p.m. Suzuki Early Childhood Education Classes provide song, creative movement, familiar nursery rhymes, percussion instruments and lots of joy work to develop a child's musical ability. For children ages three and under and their adults. The class has a 15 student maximum allowance. Free admission. Tickets are available at the Welcome Desk. Saturday, Oct. 25 Around the World: Performance Series at 2 p.m. Ethiopia Enjoy a Catskill Puppet Theater’s production of “The Lion’s Whiskers,” an  Ethiopian folktale. Saturday, Oct. 25 Monster Mash: Hall of Heroes and Heroines from 6-8:30 p.m. The museum’s 10th annual not-so-scary, favorite heroic Halloween event of the season. Dress up as your favorite hero, heroine or otherwise. Registration required. Member price is $10 per person. Non-members are $15 per person.
