Stepping Stones recently opened Express Yourself, which focuses on social-emotional learning, and an updated and expanded national traveling version of its award-winning Healthyville exhibit, which teaches children important health and wellness lessons.
"The two new experiences include play-filled activities and educational messaging that foster learning by doing," a press release said. "All of this activity is part of the museum’s commitment to growing its Healthy Children, Healthy Communities initiative, which has promoted healthy living for children, families and communities since its launch in 2006."
Norwalk Mayor Harry Rilling and local community leaders were on hand for a VIP reception and to cut the ribbon to celebrate the opening of the two new play-based exhibits. Healthyville is presented locally by Xerox Foundation.
Admission is $15 per person, free to children under 1 and $10 for seniors 62 or older. Members are free. The museum is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays through Sundays. The hours expand to 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Sundays after Memorial Day.
Stepping Stones Museum for Children is located at 303 West Ave. in Mathews Park. For more information, call 203-899-0606 or visit its website.
