The event is set for Aug. 10 and 11. Ghosts, goblins and other creatures that go bump in the night will greet visitors to the historic Sheffield Island Lighthouse, which will be decorated to provide thrills and chills for youngsters of all ages. This fun-filled, child-friendly haunted attraction includes activities for young visitors, the association said.

Cruises to Sheffield Island depart at 11 a.m., 12:30 p.m., 2 p.m. and 3:30 p.m on those days from the dock adjacent to the Stroffolino Bridge at Washington and Water streets in South Norwalk near the Maritime Aquarium.

Although the "Haunted Lighthouse" is free, participants must purchase round-trip ferry tickets. Prices are $22 for adults, $12 for children ages 4-12 and $5 for children ages 3 and younger.

The Norwalk Seaport Association, founded in 1978, is a nonprofit environmental, preservation and maritime educational organization offering an array of special events and community projects.
