The presentation will be held at noon at the store, located at 176 Main St. in Norwalk.
Christie Ruiz and women who visit her shop volunteered to make the quilts. They will present the quilts to veterans, most of whom live in Fairfield County.
Quilts of Valor is a nonprofit foundation that was founded in 2003 and set out with a goal of “making quilts that would heal and comfort our war wounded,” according to its website.
Quilts are stitched together with 20 12-inch blocks. Volunteers design and sew each block and the pieces are then stitched together at Ruiz’s business. One of the recipients at this year's event will be Paul Ceglia of Norwalk, an employee of Darien Rowayton Bank and an Army veteran.
