Money Pro Double Dips as Novelist

Alexandra Lebenthal, former President and CEO of Lebenthal & Co., now heads up wealth management company Alexandra & James, Inc. Clearly, she's all business. That is, except that she's written a juicy novel about upper East Side socialites grappling with the economic downturn.  She’ll talk about her book, "The Recessionistas,” at Darien Library on August 12 at 7 p.m.   "Vanity Fair" contributing editor Buzz Bissinger called it "a romp of a book," making it perfect end-of-summer beach reading.

The Lebenthal family company was founded in 1925 by Alexandra's grandparents. In 1988, when she joined it, she followed her father, Jim, who ran it for many years. Alexandra became its President and CEO in 1995 at age 31. Though the firm was sold, she stayed on until 2005.

A book signing follows Alexandra Lebenthal's talk, as does a wine and cheese party and an Amazon Kindle Grand Prize drawing. The event is free. Beach time investment is your call. For more information, visit Darien Library's website.
