NORWALK, Conn. -- The Connecticut Food Bank will have its inaugural Miles for Meals 5K at Calf Pasture Beach Sunday, June 5.

“We are excited to launch this event and look forward to raising awareness of the problem of hunger in Connecticut and also to raising funds that will help us power our mission to feed the more than 300,000 people in our area who struggle with hunger during the year," said Connecticut Food Bank Interim CEO Paul O’Leary.

The 5K will feature a flat course through Calf Pasture Beach along the waterfront.

Runners start at 8:30 a.m. Registration and packet pickup begins at 7 a.m. A post-race party will begin at 9 a.m., and the awards ceremony for the top three finishers in each age group will follow at 10 a.m.

The entry fee is $32 for individual runners.

Register online at www.ctfoodbank.org/5K. The first 400 entrants will receive commemorative T-shirts.
