All Norwalk property owners 65 or older are invited to attend.
Norwalk Tax Assessor Michael Stewart will begin his presentation on the senior Tax Relief Program starting promptly at 10 a.m.
Residents will be able to ask questions and learn if they qualify. Volunteers from the Norwalk Senior Center will also be on hand to help with applications.
As an added bonus, the first 300 Seniors through the door will receive five free LED light bulbs.
“We want to ensure we do everything possible to help our seniors live with the dignity and respect to which they are entitled," said Mayor Harry Rilling.
Workshop organizer and Councilman John Kydes said, “After talking to folks, I knew that more could be done to get the word out about the Senior Tax Relief Program. With the support of our sponsors, City staff, Mayor Rilling and the Norwalk Senior Center, I’m optimistic that we will have a good turnout next Saturday."
The workshop will be held from 10 a.m. to noon in the Community Room of Norwalk City Hall. Representatives from the Mayor’s Energy and Environment Task Force, Eversource, New England Smart Energy, Santa Energy and Direct Energy Solar will also be available to provide residents with information on how to reduce energy costs.
