Kids Literacy Talk, Music Takes Stage At South Norwalk Library

NORWALK, Conn. -- A free Community Conversation on "The ABCs of Pre-Literacy Skills" for parents of 3-to-5-year-olds is offered Thursday, April 7 from 6 to 8:30 p.m at the South Norwalk Public Library.

The presentation by reading expert Dr. Margie Gillis will describehow parents can their children get ready to learn to read when they start elementary school. A light dinner will be served from 6 to 6:30 p.m.

The following free  programs are open to the public at the SoNo branch in April:

  • The Warp and Weft of American Music with Nina Et cetera Saturday, April 9, at 1 p.m. The band will trace the poetic roots of the American song tradition. T
  • Extra parking will be available at Webster Parking Lot across the street from the library. 
  • Read to Reel: "Sense and Sensibility" will be shown Saturday, April 23, noon to 3:30 p.m. Multiple copies of the book are behind the circulation desk at the SoNo Branch Library.
  • Go to Work! 2016 Workshop Series: Market Yourself Well to Get a Seat at the Table  Tuesday, April 26, 6 to 8 p.m.
