DARIEN, Conn. – New ways of thinking about America’s War for Independence will be the topic of a two-part series, "Revolutionary Perspectives," at the Darien Historical Society in November.

The first talk, entitled "Alexander Hamilton: The Man, the Myth & The Musical," will be held on Saturday, Nov. 11 at 2 p.m. The smash-hit Broadway musical is changing the mythology surrounding this Founding Father, and a new perspective is emerging. Robert Begley, president of New York Heroes Society, dives deeper into Hamilton’s life and legacy.

The next talk, "Art, War and Identity in Early America" will feature Museum Curator Robin Jaffee Frank on Thursday, Nov. 16 at 7:30 p.m. Frank, a guest curator with the New York Historical Society and former chief curator at the Wadsworth Athenuem, will discuss how certain works of art helped sway public opinion during the Revolution and helped forge our national identity.

Both programs will be held at Darien Historical Society, 45 Old Kings Highway North in Darien. The cost for each program is $5 for members, $20 for non-members, and $30 for non-members and a guest. To register, go to, visit the Society, or call (203) 655-9233.
