If you dream of the Scottish highlands but don't have the frequent flier miles saved up yet, head over to Cranbury Park in Norwalk for The Round Hill Highland Games. And by all means, wear your plaids, if you have them. (Even though it might be 90 degrees.) A Parade of Clans, with plaids galore, is part of the opening ceremony for this 87th festival celebrating Scottish heritage and tradition. It takes place on Saturday, July 3, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. It'll be a day filled with
traditional Highland dancing, drum major, piping and drumming competitions, pipe band competitions, Scottish country dancing, heavy athletic competitions (team tug-o-wars) amateur sports, childrens games & crafts, music, traditional and rock and fabulous authentic food (meat pies and Scottish fish & chips) & drink. Vendors will sell lots of Scottish and Celtic goods so you can bring home souvenirs, and imagine you've returned from Aberdeenshire. Admission is $5-$15. For more information, visit the Games' website.
