Gather at The Goshen Fair This Holiday

Overflowing with agricultural atmosphere, visit The Goshen Fair and you'll come away a diehard fan of Connecticut's farms and the people who keep them going. A Labor Day weekend perennial, the fair's focus on animals, creative crafts, homemade food and old fashioned entertainment, offer an appealing view of rural life. Turn off your Blackberry and lose yourself in its poultry-judging, woodcutting demonstrations or draft horse show, among other events.

And authentic country flavor bubbles up too in the fair's lively entertainment and family activities, which include country line dancing classes, performances by the Bristol Old Tyme Fiddlers, the Northwestern Connecticut Band, the Cobblestone Road Band, Potato Chip the clown, magician Peter White, the Malica Arts Circus and more. Watch quilting, spinning, weaving and basketry demonstrations in the antique barn. Over the holiday weekend's three days, September 4-6, the Goshen Fair once again casts its spell with a whirlwind of agricultural -- and homegrown -- wonders.
