Family Fair Spans a Century

Weston's Norfield Fair has been attracting visitors for 108 years. Luckily, on Saturday it will be back for 109 with many of its old-fashioned, wholesome attractions intact. Returning are craft vendors, a smart "finds" area, a book-browsing area and lots of homemade food to sample. Move and groove to music, or learn about  nutritional wellness for the body, mind and spirit. Kids can immerse themselves in fun games and compete for prizes in such events as a rockin' Guitar Hero competition.

Peruse treasures in Grandma's Attic, the town's biggest tag sale, with everything from baby gear to sporting equipment. The Fair's Garden Booth  shows off beautiful flowers and plants. Walton's Corner features small, unique items that will just "sing" to you.  At day's end, there is a pig roast and live entertainment provided by Soul Daddy. This year, Fox 95.9 FM sponsors the fair and will be on-site with prizes for all.

Sponsored by Norfield Congregational Church, the fair was originally an event to bring Norfielders and the community together for a fun-filled summer day. All fair profits since 1990 have been donated to local charitable organizations, and more than $1 million has been raised. Fair hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. For more information, visit the Fair's website.
