Doktor Kaboom Makes Science a Blast

Doktor Kaboom pulls an amazing stunt in his shows: he proves to kids that science is not only fun, it's funny. His performances at Ridgefield Playhouse on May 19, at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m., blend theatre arts with the wonders of scientific exploration. Kids grades 2-8 have a blast watching Doktor Kaboom's increasingly spectacular – and often successful – experiments and demonstrations.

In real life, Dr. Kaboom is writer/comedian David Epley. He's had a passion for science since he was a kid and went to the North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics. Luckily, he never outgrew it. In a Cincinnati Theater Examiner intreview, he described how performing for a live audience gives him a creative jolt. “My show is extremely improvisational in nature, and the audience has an important role. Because of the things they contribute, and because each audience has its own personality, no two shows are ever the same.” Tickets to Doktor Kaboom are $10 and are available at Ridgefield Playhouse's website.?
