Jazz singer Cindy Scott performed a benefit concert at Westport's Unitarian Church Saturday night, to raise funds for three New Orleans churches, still devasted by Hurricane Katrina. According to Artshound.com, Scott comes from a family of musicians. She attended Louisiana State University but didn't become intriqued by jazz until she studied abroad. "Listen casually and youll hear the beautiful voice and sophisticated styling of an accomplished jazz singer," CDBaby said of Scott's singing. Scott gives a second benefit concert, at 1 p.m. on Sunday, May 23, at the Unitarian Church. Tickets are $15. For information, visit the church's website.
