Chris Rowlands Spreads Farmin' Fever

Nationally-acclaimed, award-winning singer, songwriter and naturalist Chris Rowlands hightails it back to Connecticut's Beardsley Zoo to perform another round of his family favorite, Farmin' Fever.  With original songs, humor and ventriloquism, Rowlands makes an educational stew that gives kids a taste of farms and their animals. He leads sing-a-longs with music he's written, like "Cud Chewing," his tribute to cows.

Rowlands told ReminderNews, a Hartford-area newspaper chain, that explaining nature to kids is his passion. “My background was science and natural history,” he said. “This is what I have always wanted to do.” Rowlands has received national recognition for his agricultural education program. The Association of Fairs and Festivals considers it the best in the country. When he is not performing educational programs, Rowlands works as a naturalist for the National Audubon Society, teaching natural history.

Farmin' Fever takes place Saturday, July 31 and Sunday, August 1 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and is free with zoo admission of $9 for kids and seniors and $11 for adults. For more information, visit The Beardsley Zoo website.
