"Captains of Comedy" Command Your Laughs

At "Captains of Comedy" on March 19, Lenny Marcus, Jon Fisch and Pete Correale, three talented comics, tap their motherlode of standup humor and the laughs won't be staunched. Their hilarious marathon is a benefit for Brien McMahon Navy Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps, a high school program of elective courses and extracurricular activities. The performance takes place in the Concert Hall at Norwalk City Hall at 8 p.m., following cocktails beginning at 6:30 p.m.

Each of the stars of "Captains of Comedy" presents a unique humorous point of view. Pete Correale calls his "reality based," and stresses the relatability of the experiences he riffs on. “If it happened to me," he says, "it happened to someone else. I like to tell stories that happen to me and find the joke in it. Whether it's putting together furniture for my wife, or walking my dog at 2 AM or hanging out with buddies having a few beers, it's all things we do for love.” He's been refining his jokes since 1992, when, after college, he got the chance for stage time at a comedy club in exchange for flipping burgers and mopping the floors. Since then, he's performed in the top venues and festivals and on TV, including at Canada's  "Just For Laughs Festival" and on NBC's “Late Friday,” Comedy Central's “Premium Blend” and “Tough Crowd with Colin Quinn,” among many others.

You might recognize Jon Fisch from his stint as a contestant (and fan favorite) on the realityTV show, "Last Comic Standing 4."  He has also appeared  on Comedy Central’s "Premium Blend," among many other TV and festival performances. Comedy Central chose him as one of its "Fresh Faces of Comedy" and Back Stage Magazine gave him a slot on its "10 Standout Stand-ups." A Bostonian who moved to New York City, he loves to mine the offbeat aspects of city living for his material.

Lenny Marcus honed his stand-up comedy chops on Comedy Central's "Live at Gotham," NBC's "Friday Nite," and "Comedy Showcase with Louie Anderson" and MTV's "The Jim Brewer Show." He also appears regularly on comedy club stages in New York, and somehow also finds time to write as well. His articles have appeared in UsWeekly and Life and Style magazine and he's been a contributing writer for DailyComedy.com. At "Captains of Comedy," all three comedians will be doing their utmost to ensure the evening ranks as one of the funniest. Tickets are $35 and are available on the event's website.
