Here's the best of both worlds for people who aren't diehard campers: a camping adventure with no cooking required that's also close to home. Stamford Museum & Nature Center extends an invitation to families to pitch their tents in the Center's meadow. Then, tuck into a barbeque dinner, followed by a farm tour, a stroll to the Observatory for stargazing and a planetarium show. Bunk down in your tent for a good night's sleep and wake up to a pancake breakfast served by the SM&NC staff.
The sleep-over takes place Saturday, July 24, starting at 5:30 p.m. and runs to Sunday, July 25, at 10 a.m. Just the right length for little ones who are getting their first taste of roughing it.
Pre-registration is required for this event and is on a first come, first serve basis. To do so, call (203) 322-1646 ext. 6521. The cost is $140 for one parent and one child and $35 to add a family member. Payment is required at the time of registration. For more information, visit SMNC's website.
