“Some of the work generated by the apprentices is outstanding and this year we wanted to share it with the general public," said Claire Kelly, Shakespeare on the Sound's director of education and artistic associate.
The theatrical trainees created original work during the theater's last two season, but the stage readings were done off-site. This will be the first time the selection of plays will be performed for a full, live audience.
The Education Tent at Pinkney Park will be transformed into an interactive mini-camp during the run of the play for children ages 5 to 13 from 4:30 to 7:15 p.m. The camp will feature coloring books and other activities and games.
The Kids Pre-Show, a half hour retelling of the main play will take place nightly at 6:30 p.m. behind the Education Tent.
Admission to Shakespeare on the Sound is free, but donations are accepted. The suggested donation is $20 for adults and $10 for seniors and students. Reserved seating is also available for $50.
