Actress Joy Behar To Perform On Ridgefield Stage

RIDGEFIELD, Conn. – A laugh is guaranteed at the Ridgefield Playhouse Sept. 14 as it welcomes Emmy winner Joy Behar to the stage.

Behar is one of the women of ABC’s morning talk show “The View,” but she got her start as a stand-up comedian. She is known for focusing her act around politics, interviews and literature.

She earned a masters degree in English education from SUNY at Stony Brook and taught for some time before branching out into comedy.

After making her name at New York City comedy clubs, like Caroline’s, Behar hosted her own show on HLN called “The Joy Behar Show” as well as a radio call-in show on WABC.

In 2009, she added a Daytime Emmy for hosting “The View” to her growing list of awards, which include three MAC awards and a Cable ACE award.

As if her time in film, television and stage wasn't enough, Beher also is a New York Times bestselling author for her children’s book “Sheetzucacapoopoo: Max Goes to the Dogs”.

For tickets to Behar’s show, $80 each, contact the Ridgefield Playhouse at 203-438-5795 or at its website.
