I started my professional life as a research psychologist (not the "do you love your mother" kind). I enjoyed research and teaching, but noticed that I spent most of my non-classroom time writing and editing, often to help other people.

When I left academia,  all the "you should be a writer" admonitions followed me to job interviews. I've been squeezing in part-time writing and editing jobs for about 9 years, so now I am happily doing it full time.

Mount Vernon Independence Club Thanks Voters MOUNT VERNON, N.Y. – The Mount Vernon Independence Club thanks its supporter who campaigned for Independence Club-sponsored candidates, the voters and all of the people of Mount Vernon for listening to third-party candidates. Richard Thomas, Lyndon Williams, Andre Wallace and Lisa Copeland all won their elections Nov. 3.
