Stephen C. Meier, 98, Of Cortlandt
CORTLANDT MANOR, N.Y. – Stephen C. Meier, of Cortlandt Manor, died Wednesday, Aug. 5. He was 98.
Meier was born on Oct. 8, 1916 in Brooklyn to Adolf and Margaret Bissert Meier.
He served in the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II.
He was the assistant chief engineer in the building maintenance department at Valeria Home in Cortlandt Manor.
He is survived by son Ralph and his wife Laurie of Sudbury, Mass., daughter Christa L. Ronci of Croton-on-Hudson; five grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and sisters Madeline Meier and Katherine LeFevre.

Enjoy Family Fun Day In Sleepy Hollow
SLEEPY HOLLOW, N.Y. – The village of Sleepy Hollow, along with Gulotta House, will hold a Family Fun Day at Sykes Park on Saturday.
From 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., the event will feature appearances and games by the Westchester Knicks, Funflatflatable rides, food, drinks, face painting, raddles, demonstrations by the Sleepy Hollow Police Department, a video gaming truck and more.

Regina J. Ormond, 87, Of Yonkers
YONKERS, N.Y. – Regina J. Ormond, of Yonkers, died on Monday, August 3. She was 87.
Ormond was born on Dec. 9, 1927 to Thomas and Katherine (nee Ingram) Ormond in Yonkers.
She graduated from Gorton High School and worked as a keypunch operator for the City of Yonkers for over 25 years, retiring in 1980.
Ormond was predeceased by her parents, four sisters, Mary Palmerton, Dorothy Goff, Edna DiFiore, Agnes Sabol and her brother Thomas Ormond.
She is survived by her sister Eileen Murphy and numerous nieces and nephews.

Angelo Nonna, 93, Of Pleasantville
PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – Angelo Nonna, of Pleasantville, died on Tuesday, Aug. 4. He was 93.
Nonna was born in Civitavecchia, Italy, on Feb. 28, 1922, growing up in Viterbo, Italy.
He attended art school, joined the Italian Navy in 1939 and served during World War II until Italy's surrender to the Allies in 1943.
Nonna was able to escape the Germans on the island of Ischia in the Bay of Naples, where the Americans had landed. He would serve in the U.S. Navy with other Italian sailors until the end of the war, surviving the sinking of three ship and meeting his wife, Josephine along the …

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – Lidia (Torchia) Marcella, died on Tuesday, Aug. 4. She was 90.
Marcella was born on June 24, 1925, in Marcellinara, Calabria, Italy, emigrating to the United States in 1947 and eventually settling in Pleasantville.
Marcella is survived by her five children, Connie Belotti and her husband John, Frank, James and his wife Karen, Rose Randone and her husband Chris, and Linda Jackson and her husband Mark; 11 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; a brother, Alfred Torchia and a sister, Angela Cottini.

RYE, N.Y. – Ellen C. D'Angelo, a lifelong resident of Rye, died on Monday, Aug. 3. She was 86.
D'Angelo was born on Feb. 11, 1929, to James and Margaret Coughlin.
She graduated from Rye High School and worked as a communications administrative assistant for the IBM Corporation for more than 16 years.
D'Angelo is survived by her daughters, Carol D'Angelo, Ginny Johnson and her husband Joel, and granddaughter Tracy of Charlotte, N.C.
D'Angelo was predeceased by her husband, Orlando and six brothers and sisters.

YONKERS, N.Y. – Anthony F. Blanco, a resident of Yonkers, died on August 1. He was 64.
Blanco was born on Feb. 8, 1951 in New Rochelle to Frank Blanco and Anne Montanaro.
He was predeceased by his parents, sister Carol Neher and nephews Eric and Jeffrey Neher and Dougie Baron.
