Joan Chacua-Diaz, of Norwalk, was arrested on Sunday, Nov. 1, for the incident which took place on Wednesday, Oct. 28, in Norwalk, said Norwalk Police Lt. Jared Zwickler.
According to Zwickler, the department received a sex complaint involving a child on Thursday, Oct. 29 from the mother of the victim.
The woman told officers she arrived home after leaving work early and found her daughter being assaulted by Chacua-Diaz, Zwickler said.
Detectives began investigating and applied for an arrest warrant for Chacua-Diaz.
On Sunday, Chacua-Diaz turned himself in and was charged with sexual assault and risk of injury to a child.
He is being held on a $100,000 bond.
