Man Charged With Using Counterfeit Bills At Restaurant, Ice Cream Shop In Darien A 24-year-old man was taken into police custody after being busted attempting to use counterfeit $50 bills at a Fairfield County ice cream shop and restaurant nearly two years ago, investigators said. Investigators from the Darien Police Department were dispatched to Gofer Ice Cream on Post Road on Nov. 30, 2017, where there was a report of suspicious suspects using the counterfeit bills. The same men later used similar bills at a nearby restaurant to order drinks.
